Professional

Education has been my passion and my pursuit.
I teach English as a Second Language at Rountree Elementary
for Pre-K through 6th
grade. I hold Texas teaching certifications in Early Childhood through
4th Generalist and ESL, 4th through 8th Generalist and ESL, and Gifted and
Talented.
I graduated December 15, 2007 from the University of North Texas
summa cum laude with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies for Early Childhood
- 4th grade ESL Education as well as a minor in Spanish.
I joined Allen ISD as an ESL teacher in January of 2008. Teaching
English as a Second Language is an exciting and rewarding profession for which
I am an avid advocate.
Other experiences that have grown me professionally were teaching a
kindergarten class at Primrose School of Coppell and teaching as a substitute
teacher for Pre-K through 12th grade in Coppell ISD. One of my most inspiring
educational experiences was teaching English in a Guatemalan orphanage for a
summer in 2005. I formally began working with children in 2002 as a teacher in
a children's Bible class of first to fourth graders and continued to be
actively involved in our church's children's ministries in a spectrum of
teaching roles. I believe that education is a vital role to creating a better
tomorrow, today.

Outside of the classroom, I share a life with my wonderful husband, Elton ,
our puppies, Sugar & Pepper, and our parrot named Neo.
